A Blend of Romance and Fantasy Chapter 15

Chapter 15

The imperial family of Blake—descendants of dragon blood—were driven by an overwhelming greed for the throne.

By tradition, each imperial heir was born with one of four attributes—fire, wind, light, or ice—and each was backed by a powerful noble house tied to one of the empire’s four regions:

  • North → Blueheart Ducal House

  • South → Redford Count House

  • West → Silverstone Marquis House

  • East → Blackwood Marquis House (Leonard’s faction)

Whichever faction won would wipe out the others—

and in the next generation, the same bloodbath would begin again.

That was Blake.

A land of endless war.

A kingdom that felt cursed.

But in this generation, something different appeared.

A protagonist.

Someone born with dragon blood—yet who desired peace.

Someone who sought to unite Blake through harmony instead of conquest.

And naturally—

someone who became a target.

A villain, for reasons unknown, set out to kill him.

And so, the story of Blake’s succession war unfolded between the protagonist and that villain.

“That story is Song of Sky, Fire, and Moon.

A pure fantasy.

I was shaken by how different it was from The Saint Who Hid Her Power Across the World—but I kept my expression neutral.

“But I still don’t see how that leads to Singcester’s destruction.”

“It does. That villain intends to eliminate Singcester’s Holy Knight Order.”

“…What?!”

I slammed my hands onto the table and shot to my feet.

“Who would come up with something that insane?! Without the Holy Knights, no one could deal with monsters!”

Monsters & the Holy Knights

Monsters weren’t native to this world.

They slipped in from the demon realm through spatial distortions.

Normally, each nation handled them on its own.

But when things became overwhelming—

they turned to Singcester.

Why?

Because:

  • Monsters use mana

  • Holy Knights use divine power → a natural counter

And more importantly—

Holy Knights were bound by oath.

If they refused a mission, the god Elysia would strip them of their power.

That was why every nation followed one unspoken rule:

Never interfere with Singcester.

Because if Singcester fell—

no one could stop the monsters.

And now—

the villain from Song of Sky, Fire, and Moon was targeting exactly that system.

“Who is the villain? Why target Singcester?”

Leonard hesitated slightly.

“I don’t know the ending. But I have a likely candidate—the First Prince.”

“The one competing with you?”

He nodded.

“Damian Blueheart Blake.”

  • Son of the Empress

  • Ice-attribute mage

  • Backed by the Blueheart Ducal House

“He’s currently using dark magic to send monsters into the human world.”

“…What?”

“In the original story, a priest handled that role. But that person hasn’t appeared yet.”

“Because you transmigrated?”

“I don’t know.”

His tone remained calm.

“So I decided to seek help from the Saintess instead.”

That… made sense.

Even in my case, the story had changed once I interfered.

The Biggest Question

“Then who is the protagonist of Song of Sky, Fire, and Moon?”

I asked carefully.

His answer—

“There isn’t one anymore.”

“…What?”

My grip tightened around the handkerchief.

“Don’t tell me… Damian already killed him?”

Before I could process that—

Leonard stood.

“Let’s stop here. It’s not important.”

“Not important?! Then what is?”

“Proof that Singcester is in danger.”

Then—

he spoke in Korean.

“Late tonight. I’ll come to your study. We’ll confirm it together.”

* * *

On the way back, my thoughts kept circling.

Can I trust him?

Or is this all a trap?

Meanwhile, Abigail and Dorothy were busy panicking beside me.

“Why did you grab the prince’s collar?!”

“If he insulted you, Sir Lucas should challenge him to a duel!”

“This could turn into a diplomatic incident!”

“Calm down.”

If Erdan or Aurora heard about this, Leonard would be in serious trouble.

I sighed.

“It was a misunderstanding. Don’t say anything—I’ll explain it myself.”

Just then—

a shrine maiden approached.

“Princess, the Saintess has sent word.”

I opened the scroll.

Come to the Sanctum of Sacred Blood immediately.

* * *

“Look at this, Charlotte.”

The moment I entered the sanctum, Aurora pointed toward one of the relics—

a golden mirror.

The Mirror of Elysia’s Beauty.

And it had changed.

Someone was reflected within it.

That only happened when—

a threat to Singcester existed.

“Aurora… isn’t that Evelyn?”

Evelyn.

In the original story:

  • A fellow temple trainee

  • An accomplice to Nox Glaston

  • Essentially a minor extra

Blonde hair. Blue eyes.

A clear imitation of Aurora—just inferior in every way.

Driven by jealousy, she had sided with Nox.

But—

“She’s just a minor character. I didn’t think she’d be dangerous.”

Aurora looked shaken.

“She’s currently stationed at a rural shrine… I didn’t think she could threaten Singcester.”

“The relic wouldn’t be wrong.”

I cut her off.

Aurora hesitated—then reluctantly listed Evelyn’s traits:

  • Jealous

  • Bully

  • Gambler

  • Sneaks into clubs

  • Thief

  • Has been imprisoned

“…Wait.”

That was… significantly worse than expected.

Aurora straightened.

“I’ll send the Moonlight Shadows immediately.”

Moonlight Shadows

The temple’s covert assassins.

They would capture Evelyn soon.

I glanced back at the relics.

There was no sign of Leonard.

“Strange… He’s suspicious, but the relic shows nothing.”

Which meant—

his ultimate goal might actually be to protect Singcester.

I turned to Aurora.

“Tell my brother everything.”

Then I made my decision.

Tonight—

I would meet Leonard.
