Grab the Regressor by the Collar and Debut! Chapter 27

Chapter 27. Do You Want to Become Special? (5)

Lee Doha’s POV

Lee Doha was genuinely happy.

For the first time in a while, a same-aged trainee had joined Miro—someone who actually seemed interesting.

He already knew about Seo Taehyun packing up and leaving the dorms once. They had been roommates. Doha didn’t know the full story, but he knew Taehyun had been deeply hurt. And he knew one more thing:

Taehyun had come back because of Kang Hajin.

Ever since returning, Taehyun had been practically glued to him.

Taehyun was friendly with everyone, but Doha understood something most people didn’t.

Taehyun draws lines.

Clear ones.

Watching Hajin handle Taehyun—like a sharp-tongued owner managing a dramatic housecat—Doha found himself thinking:

I want to be friends with him.

Hajin wasn’t unfamiliar to Doha, either.

Even before he joined Miro, staff had been talking.

“A same-aged trainee is coming. Supposedly insanely talented.”

“Seo Taeil vouched for him.”

“Team Leader Ji personally scouted him.”

“He’s a vocal, right? Doha, maybe you’ll finally have another guide vocal besides Jung Siwoo.”

Guide vocal.

Guide vocal?

Guide vocal!

If we get close… maybe he’ll record guides for me.

Doha had been self-taught since he was a kid. He finally got formal producing and composing training at Miro—but at heart, he was a pure hip-hop kid.

Sing-rap? Trendy idol hooks?

Never tried them seriously.

Rap-only tracks worked before.

But idols can’t survive on that alone.

Until now, he’d leaned on Jung Siwoo for guide vocals. But he always felt guilty asking.

And now—

A new potential guide vocal had appeared.

If Seo Taeil personally vouched for him?

Then his skill must be real.

Which is why—

When Hajin suddenly showed up at his studio and said:

“Can I listen to your recent tracks?”

Doha felt like a rookie employee being asked to present to the CEO.

He panicked.

Knocked over a stack of albums.

Almost tripped over cables.

Hajin calmly bent down and helped him pick everything up.

Awkward silence filled the room.

Hajin’s POV

Because the moment I activated the skill—

<See with the Dragon’s Eyes>

Lee Doha (Miro)
Vocal: 17% (Rap 64%)
Dance: 47%
Expression: 35%
Special: Composition / Producing 34%
Appeal: “Strong Heart”
Performance Realization: 80%

What kind of garbage stats are these?

Other than “Performance Realization,” nothing even breaks 50%.

This guy was Special Class.

Either Miro is insane—

or this system is broken.

So I tested it.

First Track

Soft piano intro.

Layered percussion building tension.

Guide vocal—clearly Jung Siwoo.

Then Doha’s rap enters.

Lyrics incomplete.

Arrangement not finished.

But—

This is ridiculously good.

There’s no way this came out of some random trainee practice room.

The sense of build. The structure. The hook placement.

This isn’t amateur.

Second Track

Explosive electric guitar.

A whistle hook practically begging for choreography.

You could already visualize the stage.

Then—

“Between nights shattered beneath passing headlights…”

His rap delivery was tight.

Measured.

Emotionally controlled.

I was certain.

This bastard is absurdly talented.

The system had to be wrong.

Later — Joo Eunchan’s Officetel

I lay on my designated couch.

Let’s think.

Seo Taeil’s numbers were strange too.

Seo Taehyun’s stats didn’t look like raw ability either.

What is this system actually measuring?

I reviewed them again.

Seo Taeil

Vocal: 93%
Dance: 83%
Expression: 91%
Special (Producing): 63%

Seo Taehyun

Vocal: 45%
Dance: 67%
Expression: 52%
Special (Natural Stage Talent): 82%

Lee Doha

Vocal: 17% (Rap 64%)
Dance: 47%
Expression: 35%
Special (Producing): 34%

Battery.

Percentage.

It clicked.

“…It’s not overall skill.”

“It’s how much of their potential they’re currently using.”

Immediately—

<Correct.>
<Skill “See with the Dragon’s Eyes” leveled up.>

And then—

<Penalty Triggered.> Original Penalty: Mental Care System -5% Replace with 300 cash? (Y/N)

“Of course I’ll pay.”

Cash deducted.

The Realization

If these numbers represent:

How much of their total potential they’re currently realizing—

Then—

Seo Taeil at 93% vocal?

He’s almost maxed out.

Seo Taehyun at 45% vocal?

He hasn’t even reached half of his ceiling.

Lee Doha at 17% vocal and 34% producing?

He’s barely scratched the surface.

Which means—

They’re monsters.

Not because their numbers are high.

But because their untapped potential is terrifying.

I stared at the screen.

“…These guys are insane.”

And then the real problem hit me.

“How the hell am I supposed to beat them?”

My motivation evaporated instantly.

This isn’t a fair fight.

Not even close.

What the hell.
